Twelve talented refugee women have a rare opportunity to showcase and sell their handcrafted goods at NAFSA 2026, the world’s largest gathering of international education professionals.

This year’s conference theme, Global by Design, emphasizes intentional, inclusive global engagement. It aligns powerfully with Gii’s mission and with the stories of the refugee women we serve. Their participation embodies the theme: global talent, global resilience, and global creativity brought directly into the heart of the international education community.

Every dollar they earn is theirs. All proceeds go directly to each entrepreneur and her family.

This is more than a marketplace. It is a chance to earn immediate income, build confidence, expand visibility, and form relationships that can sustain their small businesses long after the event. Attending can open doors to scholarships, training opportunities, mentorship, and long‑term pathways to economic mobility.

The women will showcase handmade jewelry, textiles, dolls, knitted goods, bags, and cultural crafts that reflect their heritage and their entrepreneurial spirit.

To make this opportunity possible, Gii is raising $25,000 to cover airfare, baggage fees, hotel accommodations, and meals for 12 refugee women and 2 chaperones.

Any donations in excess of this goal will be directed towards the next local Bazaar in Austin.
